e-HDM fiscal receipts with Paynet

An e-HDM is an electronic cash register registered with the tax service (SRC). Connect yours to Paynet and fiscal receipts are issued for your online payments, automatically, by hand from the dashboard, or from the API. This guide covers what an e-HDM is, the three ways to issue receipts, the six setup steps, and what a receipt costs.

What e-HDM is

An e-HDM is the electronic form of a cash register: instead of a device on your counter, it is a registration and a certificate held by the tax service (SRC) in your name. Software that holds the matching key can issue fiscal receipts for you. Paynet is that software for your online sales. You file one application with the SRC, upload the certificate they issue, and Paynet takes it from there.

Paynet generates the keypair and the certificate request for you, so there is nothing to install and no extra software to buy. The private key is stored encrypted and never leaves Paynet, and every call to the tax service uses your own certificate. Each printed receipt is registered with the SRC and comes back with a QR code. Whether your business has to issue fiscal receipts, and under which tax regime, is not something Paynet can decide for you: check with your accountant or the SRC.

Three ways to issue receipts with Paynet

01

Automatically, for every successful payment

Turn on "Automatically print a receipt for every successful payment" and each payment taken through a domain linked to your e-HDM is fiscalized the moment it succeeds. This covers the hosted checkout and the CMS plugins alike, with no code on your side.

02

By hand, from the dashboard

Use "New receipt" on the e-HDM page to print a receipt for a sale you took somewhere else: in person, by transfer, against an invoice. Enter the items with quantity and price, mark it card or cash, and print.

03

From the API, with your own order lines

Send items on POST /api/v1/payments and those lines are what the fiscal receipt carries: name, quantity and price per line, plus an optional code and unit of measure.

Setting up, step by step

Setup lives in your dashboard, under e-HDM, as a six step wizard. Paynet generates every key and certificate file; the only part you do yourself is one application in the SRC e-filing system. Have your TIN (ՀՎՀՀ) ready now, and after approval the registration number (CRN) and certificate the tax service gives you.

  1. 01

Choose the domains this e-HDM covers

Pick which of your verified websites this e-HDM issues receipts for automatically. One e-HDM belongs to one business and can serve several domains. This step is optional: skip it if you collect payments elsewhere and only want to issue receipts yourself.

Automatic printing needs at least one linked domain. Manual receipts do not, and domains can be linked later without redoing anything.
  2. 02

    Copy the Paynet server IP

The SRC application asks for the IP address of the server that will connect to the tax service. Your payments are fiscalized by Paynet, so the address to enter is the Paynet server IP shown in this step, not your own hosting address.

Copy it now and keep it at hand: you type it into the application in step 4, next to the certificate request file.
  3. 03

    Generate your certificate request (CSR)

Enter your TIN (ՀՎՀՀ) and Paynet generates an RSA keypair and the matching .csr file. Download the file; you attach it to the application in the next step.

A CSR is simply a request for a certificate: it carries your business identity and the public half of a key, and it is worthless to anyone else. The private half stays encrypted inside Paynet and never leaves it, so there is nothing to install or back up. Generating a new CSR later invalidates the previous one and any certificate issued for it.
  4. 04

File form 101 in the SRC e-filing system

This part happens at the tax service, not in Paynet, and takes about ten minutes. Sign in to the SRC e-filing system, open Applications and choose form 101, "Application for HDM registration" (code u6). Choose the electronic HDM type. In section 6, "Electronic HDM data", attach the .csr file from step 3 and enter the Paynet server IP from step 2, then submit.

Applications are usually approved in 1 to 3 business days. Mark the application as submitted in the wizard and Paynet emails you a reminder after 2 and 7 days, in case approval comes in while you are looking the other way.
  5. 05

Upload the certificate you were issued

Once a tax officer approves the application, open "HDM list" in the e-filing system, download your certificate (.crt) with the download icon and note the registration number (CRN) shown next to it. Back in Paynet, upload the .crt together with the CRN and your tax regime. Paynet checks the certificate against your stored key and builds the keystore for you.

The tax regime you pick (VAT payer, non-VAT, turnover tax, micro-enterprise) is printed into every receipt, and the wrong one produces legally incorrect receipts. It is on your tax registration certificate; if you are unsure, ask your accountant or the SRC.
  6. 06

    Check the connection, then activate

Press "Check connection" to confirm Paynet can reach the tax service with your certificate, then press "Activate". Activation switches your e-HDM to active at the SRC and configures department 1 with your tax regime. From that point Paynet can issue fiscal receipts for you.

If activation is refused, the usual reason is that the registration is approved but not yet complete on the SRC side; wait a little and try again. The page names the specific error, and [email protected] can read it with you.

After activation

Every receipt appears on the e-HDM page in your dashboard with its date, receipt number, order, amount and status, and manual ones are labelled as such. "Show QR" opens the QR code of a printed receipt, which is the customer facing proof registered with the tax service. If your integration listens for webhooks, the same receipt reaches your own system: the webhook body carries the receipt id and the QR URL alongside the payment.

Refunds are handled for you: refunding a fiscalized payment prints a return receipt that reverses the original sale at the tax service, and you can also print one from the receipt row. When a receipt fails, it is kept in the list with the reason, and there is a "Retry" button per receipt plus "Retry all failed" for a batch. A failed automatic receipt also triggers an email to you, because a customer left without a fiscal receipt is a problem worth knowing about the same day.

Questions

That depends on what you sell and how your business is registered, and Paynet cannot answer it for you: check with your accountant or the SRC. What Paynet does is the mechanical part, so that once you are required to issue receipts, or choose to, they are issued for every payment without anyone typing them out.
The e-HDM you connect here is registered by your own application to the SRC and is used by Paynet for online payments. Whether it stands beside the equipment you already use or replaces part of it is a question for your accountant or the SRC.
A standalone receipt costs 3 AMD, and a receipt is free when it belongs to a payment processed through Paynet. New accounts start with 500 free receipts. Receipts are bought in advance as a count that never expires, with no monthly fee and no plan to choose. See https://paynet.am/en/pricing for the full picture.
Receipts stop and the dashboard says the certificate has expired. Get the current certificate from the SRC e-filing system and upload it in Setup. If the stored key was regenerated in the meantime, the certificate has to be the one issued for the current certificate request, so generate a fresh CSR and file for a certificate against that one.
Yes. A completed order can be fiscalized on demand from its page even when automatic printing is off, and "New receipt" prints a standalone receipt for any sale at any time. Keep in mind that the receipt is registered with the tax service at the moment it is printed, not at the moment the sale happened; if that timing matters for your books, check with your accountant.
A payment link is paid through Paynet like any other payment, so when it belongs to a domain linked to your e-HDM and automatic printing is on, its receipt is issued the same way. For a payment taken outside that setup, print a receipt by hand from the dashboard.

Ready to issue receipts

The wizard walks you through all six steps, keeps your place between them, and tells you exactly what to file with the tax service. Everything except the SRC application happens in your dashboard.
